Welcome to Pang

A full moon, the town lights, and a few stars, and my Nikon. Pangnirtung, located 40 kilometers south of the Arctic Circle, is squeezed onto a narrow strip of land between the mile high peaks of the Cumberland Peninsula and the frigid depths of the Pangnirtung Fiord. Our landscape is so spectacular that Pangnirtung is known as "The Switzerland of the Arctic".

Snow Plow

After a storm here in Pangnirtung the drifts took over. The snow is still coming down, more to come yet

Pangnirtung Nunavut

An angle that is often not seen of my little town. I had to go to a very distant peak up about 1000m above sea level and use a telephoto zoom lens ( a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200-400mm f/4G ED VR I to be exact ). I'm often asked how big Pang is... only 1500 people. This is it, no roads out no roads in. The only way here is by plane. Note the runway down the center of town.
